In the first half of 2012, Canadian airline Bombardier Aerospace announced the launch of the production of the long-range business jet Global 6000.
The latest technologies and design solutions were integrated into this aircraft model in such a way as to ensure high reliability and flight safety in conditions of increased comfort. Work, leisure or in-flight entertainment is easy with the Global 6000. The Bombardier Global 6000 is the best in its category business jet with an exceptional flight range. Thanks to the unique combination of comfort, speed and flight duration, this aircraft will delight even the most discerning traveler. The cockpit is equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics system, which includes four 15-inch LCD monitors, an advanced third-generation vision system (EVS), a head-up display, and an artificial vision system (SVS). An automatic system for maintenance and diagnostics, tools for the rapid detection and elimination of malfunctions were also installed. In general, the Bombardier Global 6000 electronic system is fully focused on the “paperless flight”: it has an extensive database, both laid down initially and generated by newly received information, sufficient to completely replace multi-kilogram reference materials. It includes the MultiScan system √ determination of weather conditions overboard, the pilot’s communication system with the DATALINK dispatcher, spatial and vertical orientation air navigation systems, and several other navigation and communication devices. With the transition to Global 6000, Bombardier is building a single brand line from Global 5000 (a shorter version with a shorter flight range) through the Global 6000 to the Global 7000 and Global 8000 - the new ultra-long-range business jets. When Bombardier has mastered the simultaneous production of all four models of the Global family: 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000, the company will be able to provide customers with a choice of aircraft with a range of 9630 to 14630 km.
According to the aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier Global 6000 has the largest cabin size of all aircraft specially designed for business aviation use. In three sections of the cabin can comfortably accommodate 15-16 passengers. Many aircraft have a private cabin in the rear of the cabin, many are equipped with an on-board kitchen in the front of the cabin and almost all have a second toilet in front. A plane with typical equipment is capable of carrying 10-11 passengers, with filled tanks. At a cruising speed of 0.82M, the maximum range with 8 passengers is 11,400 km.

Nonstop intercontinental city-pairs with payload and reserves (e.g., North America–Europe)
High-utilization corporate shuttle or executive travel where sleeping comfort matters
Trips that benefit from distinct work, lounge, and rest zones with full galley service
The Global 6500 sits in Bombardier’s large-cabin, long-range segment and is designed around frequent intercontinental flying with airline-like cabin comfort. It combines a high-subsonic cruise profile with a multi-zone cabin intended to support productivity, rest, and meal service over long stages. Compared with smaller large-cabin jets, the 6500 is typically chosen when range margin, cabin zoning, and baggage accessibility are central to the mission.
The Global 6500 is most aligned with missions where long legs are routine and cabin time is expected to be productive and restful. Buyers typically value the ability to maintain higher cruise speeds while still preserving range, plus the flexibility of a multi-zone cabin for mixed groups. If typical legs are under a few hours, much of the aircraft’s capability may go unused relative to smaller-cabin options.
The cabin is arranged as a true large-cabin, generally in multiple zones that can separate a conference/work area from lounge seating and a dedicated crew-rest or private stateroom area depending on completion. Expect a full-size galley suited to hot meals and a lavatory arrangement aimed at long-duration comfort. Large windows, low cabin altitude design intent, and acoustic treatments are key parts of the Global family cabin experience, with baggage access typically available during flight on many completions.
The Global 6500 uses an integrated, modern flight deck with advanced navigation, autothrottle capability depending on configuration, and robust datalink/weather options aimed at long-range dispatch reliability. Systems are designed around high-altitude cruise efficiency and long-haul crew workload management, with cabin management typically integrated for lighting, temperature zones, and entertainment/connectivity.
This aircraft is typically operated as a long-range platform: higher cruise altitudes, fewer cycles, and longer sectors that emphasize dispatch planning, international handling, and crew scheduling. It benefits from efficient climb/cruise profiles and is commonly used for nonstop transoceanic segments when winds and payload permit. Airport selection should consider runway performance margins, hot/high conditions, and de/anti-ice needs typical of all-weather global travel.
