The entrance to the passenger compartment is located in the tail section of the aircraft. Two bathrooms in this compartment are located at the beginning and end of the cabin. Passenger seats are arranged in 3×3 rows. Emergency exits are equipped between the second and third, ninth and tenth rows. The business class has more comfortable and wider seats. They are arranged in rows 2×2.

VIP modification Yak 42 D is designed for business flights with a high level of comfort. This salon is divided into several rooms:

Personal rest room. It has an easy chair, a sofa that converts into a bed, a desk and a small wardrobe. From the rest room there is access to an individual bathroom.
Conference hall. It has four armchairs, two sofas and a negotiating table. The hall has video surveillance and satellite communications.
First class salon. There are four blocks of seats and tables.
Salon for accompanying persons. It has 18 business class seats.
