The business jet manufacturer Gulfstream delivered its last G450 aircraft on January 19, 2018, marking the end of the GIV series after 30 years of production.

The Rolls Royce Tay-powered G450 was introduced as the GIV-SP but was rebranded before entering service in 2005.

Over 12 years, the Savannah, Georgia-based manufacturer delivered 360 GIVs, but orders began to dwindle after Gulfstream announced the G500 successor in October 2014.

The G500 was expected to enter service by the end of last year, but it is now scheduled for its first delivery in early 2018.

Gulfstream states that the G450 line is closing as the company "prepares to enter a new era of business aviation with the completely new G500 aircraft."

The G500 features a wider cabin, fly-by-wire controls, active winglets, and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 engines.
You can rent the Gulfstream 450 or 550 through our company, JETVIP.
