Missed the Dassault Falcon 5X? Introducing the Falcon 6X.

A new development based on the long-awaited predecessor called the Falcon 6X

The Dassault company is turning the page on the saga of the troubled development of the Falcon 5X with Safran Silvercrest engines, releasing another model that is essentially the 5X but based on different turbojet engines, the Pratt & Whitney PW800.

The new aircraft model is called the Falcon 6X, with its first flight scheduled for 2021, followed by certification and the first delivery in 2022. It shares the wing and most systems with the Falcon 5X but will be 51 cm (20 inches) longer and will add a range of 300 nautical miles (555 km) to reach a total range of 5,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.80. Like its unfortunate predecessor, the 6X features a spacious cabin with a height of 198 cm and a width of 258 cm.

On December 6, 2017, Dassault lost patience with the engine manufacturer Safran and officially canceled the 5X program, which was initially expected to fly in 2013 and begin deliveries in 2017.
