On the basis of the domestic medium-haul passenger aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100, a luxury version of the aircraft from the Russian brand AURUS called Aurus Business Jet was presented. UAC plans to complete certification of the Superjet in the Aurus version in 2022. Rostec invested about ₽900 million in the development of its interior. An airplane with a shower cabin and a built-in gangway will fly from Moscow to Vladivostok without refueling.
The novelty differs from its donor Sukhoi Superjet 100 in the layout and interior design. The salon is made in the best traditions of a business jet and is divided into 2 parts, in the first part there is an area for work and eating, and the second part with sofas is intended for good rest over long distances.
The cockpit is designed for two pilots. "The aircraft control system of the highest safety level, human participation is minimal"The base already includes reinforced cabin noise insulation, an advanced IFEC / CMS aircraft cabin management system, a kitchen, three separate bathrooms and a separate sleeping compartment. As an option, for an additional fee, the aircraft can be equipped with a retractable side ladder, a satellite communication system, a shower cabin, a Wi-Fi access point and Internet TV using the IPTV protocol.
The basic version of the aircraft boasts a range of 4,710 km, but with an optional fuel tank, the aircraft can cover up to 7,200 kilometers. This was the main technical difference between the Aurus and the SSJ 100, for which no additional fuel capacity is provided. According to the head of the state corporation "Rostec" Sergei Chemezov, this is enough to "easily" fly from Moscow to Vladivostok without refueling.
According to Chemezov, the cost of a business jet will range from $ 39 to $ 50 million, depending on the configuration. He noted that "it is cheaper than, for example, Boeing," for which a similar plane will cost "about 60-65 million dollars, depending on the configuration."
Since 2013, 11 Superjets in VIP configuration have been delivered to Russian and foreign customers, mainly state-owned. On its basis, ABJ was created with a shower cabin, high-speed Internet and a built-in ladder, the UAC press service explained. This project appeared thanks to the cooperation of the UAC and the Aurus company, 63.5% of which belongs to the Research Automobile and Automotive Institute (NAMI, subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade), 36% to the Tawazun Strategic Development Fund from the UAE, and another 0.5% from Sollers.
